Finding Your God-given Skills
What makes you unique, is the skills you’ve been given in life. These are God-given gifts and talents that bring you closer to your purpose in life. It can sometimes be hard to see what these skills areas you don’t believe they are that spectacular….here’s the thing, you have a skill set that is different from someone else.Your skillset could be:
- Math skills
- Being a good teacher
- Being a mother
- Helping others find their purpose in life
- Artistic abilities - art, singing, composition
- Etc.
The list is endless of what your skill set could be - I couldn’t even list them all as I do not have a fulsome view of what all is involved. If you are currently struggling to find out what your skillset is, ask yourself the following questions:
- What comes easy to me?
- What could I spend hours doing without getting bored?
- What do others turn to me for?
Once you can answer these questions, you will gain a better perspective of what your God-given skillset is. When you start working from your skillset, you will start to have more opportunities coming your way that you didn’t think would be possible. As 1 Peter 4:10-11 says:
10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
Take this time to determine what your skillset is, put it into practice, and live your life for God. Once you do, things will shift and grow for you.
